Floods, Government Response and the carelessness of The Ministry of Education.

The recent floods devastating communities across the country demand urgent and effective action from both national and county governments. The loss of lives and destruction of property are heartbreaking reminders of the need for proactive measures to mitigate such disasters. It’s unacceptable that the government’s response has been inadequate, leaving many vulnerable citizens without the necessary support and resources. I urge both levels of government to prioritize disaster preparedness and response strategies, including better infrastructure, early warning systems, and swift emergency assistance to affected areas.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Education’s handling of the postponement of school openings demonstrates a glaring lack of sensitivity and poor communication. The decision to delay school reopening, while understandable given the circumstances, should have been communicated clearly and in a timely manner. Families, students, and educators deserve better than the confusion and uncertainty caused by last-minute announcements. This underscores the need for greater transparency and consultation in decision-making processes that impact the lives of millions of students and their families.

Additionally, these events raise questions about the government’s priorities and allocation of resources. While natural disasters ravage communities and disrupt lives, it’s crucial that leaders at all levels of government reassess their focus and ensure that critical issues such as disaster management and education are given the attention and resources they deserve. It’s time for the President and his administration to demonstrate strong leadership and decisive action to address these pressing challenges and prioritize the well-being of all citizens.
