BREAD AND CIRCUSES
Right now i’m thiking of what this life has become.. i want to beileive i’m just a bit too focused on the future but still lingering in the past, but they say life is now, and now i’m here typing this blog. I have nothing scheduled or planned lets see what it will be.
Been on twitter and here in Kenya #sakaja has been trending for the last week, just because of a degree. I dont have any thing to say about it. Yesterday there was chaos at #Jacaranda and now the blame game is taking forth, staged or planned by the other side who knows? only them know.
Aside from that, there are real problems like fare hike and cost of essential commodities rising. It doesn’t matter who you are ,you can feel the hit of the economic crisis we are at. But the politicians are really brushing it off and saying hogwash about it, using it as bait for votes. We as the people deserve better but do we actually understand that?
Well did you know the people who suffer the most from any crisis be it economic or political are women and children? Do you know how many women are suffering in silence doing the best they can to put food on the table? Well let me tell you one of the biggest problem women face is this thing called entitlement and the need for ‘them’ to just burst a nut.
I have sat around women both young and aged and one common issue is men taking advantage of them. It doesn’t matter how qualified or how badly you need the job because your children are crying of hunger, these specific category of men just want to sleep with you in order for you to get what you deserve and wish. And even if you do its not a guarantee that it will be, it’s a gamble on your own basic dignity and right to be treated with decency and respect.
It is quite unfortunate that women are seen as the weak gender, the not deserving gender but even the so called superior gender is out here doing nothing just being ‘lambistic’. So many deadbeat fathers, babydaddy dramas all over the country, single families is a pandemic here in Kenya. Women and children are sufferring in this economic crisis we are going through, affording 3 meals is a luxury lest you forget basic needs of the females that is sanitary towels.
Anger and frustrations building up on our mothers, yet politicians out here causing chaos, is it not enough already? Well i want to believe that there is still humanity left in us. As a man or woman in a position to hire ,guide, mentor, refer or even boost someones biashara please do so without asking for something in return. For politicians i have nothing to say to you,do what you see fit. We want leaders and not mere politicians looking for power just to steal and continue hurting our own people. Is Kenya a circus to you?
